Digit Recognition on Copper Board

KCE Electronics produce copper boards, which is used in production of various kinds of circuit boards. Our work helps in the automation of keeping track of the copper boards while it goes through various processes.  

Every copper board is drilled with a unique 8-digit serial number. The application makes use of Raspberry Pi, a small single-board computer, and OpenCV framework to capture images of the boards and separate the 8-digit serial number from the noisy background. Once the sequence has been separated, Google Tesseract is used for the recognition of the digits. To make the recognition simpler, we trained only numerical characters for a font that matched the digits drilled on the boards.

Next step of our work is to design the setup in such a way that the entire process becomes effective and ef´Čücient.
