UI Design class in semester 2/2018 used the active learning method to help the students learn the techniques to improve the UI design of the current applications. Students in this batch was separated into 2 teams. One team tried to improve the UI design of the Tweeter application and the other team tried to improve the UI design of the VDO download application.
The project was separated into 4 phases:
1) User Story where the students learned the weak points of the current application and wrote the user stories to improve the UI design of such application.
2) Wireframe where the students sketched and presented the new UI to improve the current application.
3) Usability Testing where the students had to do the usability testing for their UI design on the real users. Students had to record the VDO clips of the test and upload to YouTube.
4) Final UI Design where students had to use the users’ feedback to adjust their UI design, produced the realistic UI designs, and presented to everyone in the class.
